Ami is the brains, Rei is perceptive and intuitive, Minako is an experienced leader, and Usagi has the purest heart, but how does Makoto fit into the equation? What is her role in the senshi team?
As a warrior, Sailorjupiter is a vital part of the senshi team. Powers aside, she is the strongest senshi in terms of physical strength. Her physical strength aids greatly in the early seasons when the girls are not yet accustomed to fighting and are often confused as to how to proceed with a villain (episode 25 of the anime is a great example of this). She is quite comfortable fighting without her powers and is very quick to react to threats. In act 40 of the manga when the senshi are trying to break Nehellenia's mirror, Sailorjupiter uses her bare hands and achieves significant damage. Sailorjupiter is also very perceptive, although this is more evident in the manga than in the anime.
But Sailorjupiter is often given credit as the brawn of Serenity's guard. Upon further inspection, her role is more dynamic than just a source of muscle.
Sailorjupiter also acts as a great encourager. Her loyalty to her friends is fierce, and her dedication has often prompted others to action.
