Emerald Star

Castle at Io

Usagi is not the only one with multiple roles and identities. Each of the sailor warriors had specific duties during the Silver Millennium, including being princesses and heiresses to their respective planets.

Each senshi is also princess of her respective planet, and all planets sit under the moon. During the blissful period known as the Silver Millennium, the girls were able to relax and enjoy life as royalty. Serenity's four guardians danced and feasted in the marble halls of the Moon Kingdom.

In Minako's flashbacks in Codename wa SailorV, the senshi are shown in their sailor suits. In flashbacks in the Sailormoon manga, the senshi are shown in elegant gowns with color corresponding to their planets. Princess Jupiter's gown is made of many layers of green fabric (presumably silk or satin). It is the only of the princesses' gowns to expose any leg. She still wears her hair back, but it is tied with a green ribbon and pink roses rather than hair balls.

Princess Jupiter's castle, like all planetary castles except for the moon, is not located on the planet itself. It is a floating castle that orbits its planet in order to keep close watch. Princess Jupiter's castle is called Io Castle. It is named after one of the four Gallilean moons of Jupiter.

The girls' roles as princesses were not immediately apparent to them, even after Sailormoon had been revealed as the moon princess. The senshi battled for quite some time before their past lives were revealed. The anime and manga portray the awakening differently, but each agrees that the senshi were also rulers of their respective planets.

The Jupiter Guardian, a miniature version of Sailorjupiter, revealed to Makoto her past life as a princess in act 41. These small guardians (each senshi has one) protects the princesses' planets while they are fighting as senshi on Earth. The Jupiter Guardian also gave Sailorjupiter the Jupiter Crystal, which enabled her to power up as Super Sailorjupiter and use Oak Evolution.
